Another canvas finished, and a trip
I have finished Glissandi (in red) and am about to begin Glissandi (in yellow). This will be the end of the Glissandi series. Then it will be time to work on a new series. I have two in my mind. I just need to start mixing paint and beginning the studies.
Even though I'm always working to get more time in the studio, I took some time last week for a few days in the Chicago area. It was a relaxing time and I needed the rest. I got one day in downtown to explore. I visited the Cloud Gate, also known as the Bean. It's fascinating to watch people interact with it.

Near my hotel was a lovely mosaic mural by Chagall. I wish I'd had more time with it.

After visiting The Bean, I walked the Nichols Bridgeway from Millenium Park to the Art Institute of Chicago. I had most of a day there and had a lovely time looking at more art than I can remember.
I also had some time to explore downtown eateries. Most fun was Revival Hall - one of several indoor food Courts in Chicago. I was particularly impressed by my visit to Danke there. Danke has full restaurant locations elsewhere however the food Court location featured wine and cheese curated by a young lady who was also toiling away at the bar, who has an incredible palate for both. It was an excellent evening and a great counter-balance to otherwise disagreeably cold and windy weather!
